SharpsSwap is preparing to launch. Join for priority access when collections open in your area.

The journey

What using SharpsSwap looks like.

Six steps, end to end — from the container in your house to a fresh one on the shelf.

  1. 01

    You get an approved container

A container appropriate to your treatment and volume, supplied by your clinic, your pharmacy, or as part of a SharpsSwap exchange.

Accepted container types are confirmed for your area when it opens.

  2. 02

You fill and seal it at home

Sharps go straight in after use. When it reaches the fill line, the lid is permanently closed and the container stays upright and out of reach.

Never decant, never force sharps in, never reopen a sealed container.

  3. 03

    You arrange an exchange

Choose collection only, or collection with a replacement container and any supplies you use, then pick a window that suits you.

Your container carries an identity code you can scan from your account.

  4. 04

We check it before we come

Ahead of collection your account confirms three things: the container is matched to its identity code, the closure is confirmed sealed, and the preparation guidance is completed.

A quick scan and three confirmations, so nothing is in doubt on the day.

  5. 05

    An authorised carrier collects

Your sealed container is collected from an agreed point at your address and taken to an authorised receiving facility.

With SharpsSwap you never post a container or travel with it — we come to you.

  6. 06

A fresh container arrives, and you see the record

The replacement is delivered clean and separately, with an optional reminder set to your routine. Your account holds the collection record and any treatment or disposal record available for your container reference.

Records are held against your container identity code.

Availability

Bookings open in an area once an approved collection route is available there, and accepted container types are confirmed at the same time. Registering for priority access is how you find out when yours is ready.
