Terms of use

The terms that apply to this website, priority access and SharpsSwap accounts.

Using this website

By using this website, registering for priority access or opening an account, you agree to these terms. Use the site lawfully and do not attempt to disrupt it or access other people's accounts.

Priority access registration

Registering tells us where to open collections next and reserves your place when they do. It does not create a booking or a charge. We confirm availability in your area before any collection is arranged or any payment is taken.

Collections

Collections are carried out by a licensed carrier, and waste documentation is completed for every pickup. Containers must be sealed, undamaged and within their fill line, and left accessible at the agreed address on the agreed date. We may decline a collection where a container is unsafe to move, and we will tell you why and what to do next.

Supplies and prices

Prices are shown with the product and confirmed before you pay. Sealed clinical supplies cannot be returned once opened, for safety reasons. Where a clinic or pharmacy funds part of your service, the funded amount is shown on your account.

Clinic and pharmacy accounts

Organisations are responsible for the branding, site details and calendar they publish through their SharpsSwap page, and for the accuracy of what they tell their patients. We may withdraw a page that is inaccurate or misused.

Safety information

Our safety guidance is general information written in plain language. Follow the instructions from your prescriber, your container manufacturer and the carrier attending your address where they differ.

Cancellations and changes

You can change or cancel a booked collection from your account up to the day before it is due. We will tell you as soon as we can if we need to move a collection, and we will offer the next available date.

Liability and complaints

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise our liability is limited to the value of the service concerned. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will investigate and respond.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes are notified to account holders before they take effect.
