Privacy
What we collect, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it.
This notice applies to the SharpsSwap website, the priority access register, customer accounts, clinic and pharmacy partner accounts, and the collection service we operate around them.
Your name and contact details, the address and postcode where a collection would take place, the containers and supplies on your account, and the record of collections, deliveries and messages between us. When you register for priority access, we collect only your contact details and area.
To confirm whether collections are available in your area, to arrange and evidence a collection, to supply replacement containers and injection supplies, to keep your records accurate and to answer your questions. We rely on performing our contract with you, and on our legitimate interest in planning where the service opens next.
We do not ask for clinical or treatment records, and you should not send them to us. Where a clinic or pharmacy funds collections for its patients, eligibility is handled by reference from that organisation rather than by us holding health detail.
The licensed carrier attending your address receives the details needed to complete the collection and its waste documentation. Where your collection is funded by a clinic or pharmacy, that organisation sees that the collection happened, not your wider account. We use service providers for hosting, email and payments, who act on our instructions only. We do not sell your information.
Account and collection records are kept while your account is open and then for as long as waste documentation and tax rules require. Priority access details are kept until the service opens in your area and you decide whether to continue, or until you ask us to remove them.
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask us to send it elsewhere. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Use the contact page to reach us about anything in this notice, including a request about your information. We answer privacy requests as quickly as we can and within one month.
